About District 81P
Formation of the Council
The Caribbean Territorial
Council of Toastmasters was formed on February 15th, 2003, at a conference
held at the Terra Nova Hotel, Kingston Jamaica.
Twenty-two of the clubs in the
Caribbean consented to be part of this Council as the first step towards
becoming a Caribbean District (see attached list). The first step towards
the realization of a dream for many of us, has become a reality.

The meeting was graced by the
presence of Mr. Ted Wood DTM Past International President, 1995 and his
wife Inez, and was chaired by DTM and Past International
Director 1989 - 1991, Eileen Wolfe. The keynote address was delivered by DTM Wood who
also provided much insight regarding how to becoming a district and club
building.

Goal of the Council
The initial goal of the
Territorial Council was to have 45 clubs in good standing with WHQ, sign and submit the

The next major goals were to become
a Provisional District by August 2006 with 60 clubs by April 2006 and a
full district by July 2008.
The Caribbean Territorial Council was granted Provisional District
